Because there is no single food-safety intervention that acts as a “silver bullet,” Elanco Food Solutions offers a comprehensive line of science-based, pre- and post-harvest food-safety technologies for multiple intervention points in multiple species. Elanco Food Solutions continues to develop new food-safety technologies, including on-farm, pre-harvest, post-harvest and ready-to-eat (RTE) meat interventions for the beef, poultry, pork and further-processed meat industries.

Elanco Food Solutions offers the Food Safety Knowledge Solutions™ program, a management and benchmarking program for meat and poultry processors that helps them effectively manage their total pathogen-control systems. Food Safety Knowledge Solutions uses statistical process control (SPC) methodology and data analysis to help processors reduce variation and improve processes. Food Safety Knowledge Solutions can help Elanco Food Solutions customers analyze the impact of pathogen, operational and environmental data on foodborne-pathogen levels.


Elanco Food Solutions plans to offer food-safety diagnostic technologies that will help its meat- and poultry-processing customers. This may include technologies for detecting foodborne pathogen levels and/or technologies for measuring the effectiveness of food-safety interventions.

AviBrom® is a broad-spectrum, post-harvest antimicrobial that reduces Campylobacter, Salmonella and E. coli levels1 at multiple intervention points in poultry-processing plants. It can be used in chill tanks, scalders, plant process water and inside-outside bird washers (IOBW).

Finalyse® is a hide wash used to aid in the reduction of E. coli O157:H7 in beef cattle. It is applied in a solution to the hides of beef cattle in the holding area before they enter the beef-processing facility.

BoviBrom® is a broad-spectrum, post-harvest antimicrobial that reduces E.coli and Salmonella levels1 in beef-processing plants. It is U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reviewed and accepted for use on beef carcasses, hides, heads and organs. BoviBrom is also a post-harvest, antimicrobial pathogen reduction product for pig, goat and sheep carcasses, parts and organs.
