Rumensin® (monensin) and Tylan® Premix (tylosin) — quality manufacturing in every bag

Cattle feeders depend on Elanco’s feed additives for consistency in every ration

Elanco’s quality manufacturing starts with a commitment to research and development, followed by stringent quality assurance standards. These systems guide production to reduce and manage risks associated with feed ingredients.

Every batch has assured active ingredient levels that consistently deliver dependable and proven results. Cattle feeders rely on uniform particle size and potency for even distribution in feed and at the bunk.

Consistent results from a proven process

Rumensin and Tylan are produced using Good Manufacturing Practices that meet U.S. Food and Drug Administration and European Union human pharmaceutical requirements. It is free of any ruminant source material products, which eliminates risks associated with bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) contamination.

The process begins with 24 raw materials that go through unique and complex procedures to produce every bag. And, because a breakdown at any stage could mean uncertain outcomes, each step is carefully controlled, regularly tested and documented for traceability to ensure consistent quality.

Important safety information

The labels contain complete use information, including cautions and warnings. Always read, understand and follow the labels and use directions.

For Rumensin: Consumption by unapproved species or feeding undiluted may be toxic or fatal. Do not feed to veal calves.

Dosage/Use Levels

Rumensin: Cattle fed in confinement for slaughter

For improved feed efficiency: Feed 5 to 40 g/ton of monensin (90% DM basis) continuously in a complete feed to provide 50 to 480 mg/hd/d.

For the prevention and control of coccidiosis: Feed 10 to 40 g/ton of monensin (90% DM basis) continuously to provide 0.14 to 0.42 mg/lb of body weight/d of monensin up to a maximum of 480 mg/hd/d.

Tylan

For reduction of incidence of liver abscesses associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum and Arcanobacterium pyogenes: Feed continuously at 8 to 10 g/ton of tylosin (90% DM basis) to provide 60 to 90 mg/hd/d.
