BEGIA Survey

Bacterial enteritis (BE) has long been recognized as a serious threat to animal health and production economics around the world. Since 2000, Elanco has been keeping tabs on this issue through a series of global surveys conducted every five years. Called the Bacterial Enteritis Global Impact Assessment (BEGIA), the 2015 survey responses reconfirm that BE is still a critical threat to Intestinal Integrity.

Important Safety Information

Coban®

  • No withdrawal required when fed according to label.
  • Do not feed to laying chickens or chickens over 16 weeks of age.
  • For replacement chickens intended for use as cage layers only. Do not allow horses, other equines, mature turkeys, or guinea fowl access to feed containing monensin. Ingestion of monensin by horses and guinea fowl has been fatal.

In the absence of coccidiosis in broiler chickens the use of monensin with no withdrawal period may limit feed intake resulting in reduced weight gain.
